Summary

Working On Rewarding and Keeping Employees Resilient Act or the WORKER Act

This bill provides for (1) a grant program to implement engineering education programs in elementary and secondary schools; (2) programs that increase representation of women and under-represented minorities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) occupations; (3) grants for improved worker training, retention, and advancement; (4) wage insurance for state unemployment compensation recipients; and (5) the establishment of the Distressed Community Investment Agency to promote, establish, and strengthen venture capital investment in distressed communities.
