Summary
American Border Act
This bill modifies various provisions related to border security, including by:
- directing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to achieve situational awareness and operational control of the southern border,
- requiring U.S. Customs and Border Protection to carry out a certain minimum number of flight hours in patrol of the southern border,
- directing DHS to deploy certain infrastructure along specified sectors of the southern border,
- authorizing DHS to request U.S. National Guard support to secure the southern border, and
- establishing within DHS the Integrated Border Enforcement Team to work with Canada on border security.
