Summary
Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Changes the requirement for competitive bidding for fire protection district contracts to contracts over $30,000 (currently, over $20,000). Senate Floor Amendment No. 1 Restores the $20,000 minimum threshold for competitive bidding for fire protection district contracts for supplies, materials, or work, but adds that, if the board of trustees seeks to purchase equipment directly from a dealer or an original manufacturer in excess of $50,000, then the contract for purchase shall be let to the lowest responsible bidder after advertising.
