Whereas Tony Bennett, born Anthony Dominick Benedetto on August 3, 1926, was an iconic American singer, performer, and artist, who has made significant contributions to the world of music and entertainment throughout his illustrious career;

Whereas Tony Bennett’s unparalleled talent, exceptional vocal range, and soulful renditions of timeless classics have touched the hearts of millions of people around the globe, leaving an indelible mark on the American cultural landscape;

Whereas Tony Bennett’s dedication to his craft, tireless pursuit of excellence, and unwavering commitment to preserving the Great American Songbook have earned him numerous accolades, including 20 Grammy Awards, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the distinction of being a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master;

Whereas Tony Bennett’s musical legacy has not only enriched the lives of his fans, but also served as an inspiration to countless aspiring artists, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and strive for greatness;

Whereas Tony Bennett’s philanthropic efforts, including his support for arts education and humanitarian causes, have exemplified his compassionate spirit and commitment to making the world a better place;
