To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to extend the requirement for State Medicaid plans to provide coverage for medication-assisted treatment.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “Extending Access to Addiction Treatment Act”.
SEC. 2. Extending requirement for State Medicaid plans to provide coverage for medication-assisted treatment.
(a) In general.—Section 1905(a)(29) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396d(a)(29)) is amended by striking “2025” and inserting “2035”.
(b) Conforming amendment.—Section 1006(b)(4)(A) of the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act (42 U.S.C. 1396a note) is amended by striking “2025” and inserting “2035”.
