To extend the deadline for States to meet the requirements of the REAL ID Act of 2005 due to COVID–19.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “COVID–19 REAL ID Relief Act of 2020”.
SEC. 2. Extension of compliance deadline.
The Secretary of Homeland Security shall grant to States an extension until October 1, 2021, to meet the requirements of section 202 of the REAL ID Act of 2005 (49 U.S.C. 30301 note; Public Law 109–13) due to the national emergency declared by the President under the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) as a result of COVID–19.
