Mr. Suozzi introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Reform


A BILL

To extend the deadline for States to meet the requirements of the REAL ID Act of 2005.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the “REAL ID Extension Act of 2020”.

SEC. 2. Extension of compliance deadline.

The Secretary of Homeland Security shall grant to States an extension until September 30, 2021, to meet the requirements of section 202 of the REAL ID Act of 2005 (49 U.S.C. 30301 note; Public Law 109–13).
