Ms. Dean (for herself, Mrs. Spartz, Ms. Scanlon, and Mr. Fitzpatrick) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
To amend the Controlled Substances Act to increase the number of days before which certain controlled substances for maintenance or detoxification treatment must be administered, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “Improving Patient Access to Care and Treatment Act”.
SEC. 2. Increase in number of days before which certain controlled substances must be administered.
Section 309A(a)(5) of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 829a(a)(5)) is amended by striking “14 days” and inserting “60 days”.
